Come and stroll in this pretty city of Béarn, located on the banks of the Ousse. A 13th century tower, part of the ramparts and the 14th century gothic church remain from the old days. On the Place Du Barry stands a bronze goose, an advanced sentinel of Béarn, in charge of warning the Béarn cities threatened by invaders coming from Bigorre. The city?s coat of arms includes a motto in Latin "Melior vigilentia somno" (Better to watch than to sleep).
A 2 km circuit "Pontacq, a heritage along the water", leads you to the discovery of the beautiful heritage of Pontacq. The brochure is available in the tourist information offices of Lembeye, Morlaàs and Arzacq.
