Cave Le Petit Pigeonnier
Description
La Cave Le Petit Pigeonnier is located in St. Chamassy near Le Bugue. In the past there were many vineyards in the department, mostly for family use. But after the war these almost all disappeared. Today, it is one of the few wineries in the vicinity of St. Chamassy*
Created in 2005 in St. Chamassy, the small Merlot vineyard was expanded with plots in Bugue and Audrix. The result is 1 ha of vines on 3 types of soil. The aim is to produce a good quality red wine, which was already produced in this region.
In 2007 a new cellar was built for the treatment of the grapes. With the aim to treat the grapes with modern but old-fashioned means. Vinification in oak barrels and a wooden hand press for the treatment of the best grapes
The cellar is open from April 1 to October 15.
