Visit our authentic distillery in the heart of the Périgord noir just 2 km north of the medieval town of Sarlat-la-Canéda.
If you visit as a group, Jacques Gatinel himself – the son of the founder Raymond Gatinel – will guide you through the distillation workshop, the ageing cellar and the bottling premises.
You may also enjoy a self-guided tour of Distillerie la Salamandre by following the informative panels on display at each step of the manufacturing process.
Chestnuts, pears, plums, cherries, apricots, walnuts, and more: Learn how the fresh fruits of the Périgord and the greater Southwest area are fermented for several weeks before being distilled the old-fashioned way in traditional copper stills.
After having seen the oak barrels where the eaux-de-vie mature, taste a selection of liqueurs, aperitifs and brandied fruits in the Distillerie la Salamandre shop.
