Parcours historique des bunkers

All along the Landes coast, there are numerous remnants of the Atlantic Wall. In Ondres, a historical tour offers a complementary perspective on the subject, demonstrating that a military position functioned as an organized whole combining combat, surveillance, personnel, and logistics.
Ondres Beach was part of Position Ba 17, which was occupied during World War II by German military installations combining, in particular, ground defense and anti-aircraft defense. The site included three Flak-related bunkers, as well as two R 612 casemates located to the north and south to help defend the sector.
Thanks to the various informational panels installed on the site, visitors can gradually gain an understanding of the overall layout and place the ruins in their historical context, including the facilities located in the forest.
