Whether you're a couple, a family or a group of friends, the vélorail offers you an unusual and eco-responsible ride along a former railway line in the heart of the Lauragais region!
The 7km round trip takes just 1 hour 15 minutes. The history of this old railway line began on 16 April 1865.
The route takes in the countryside, passing through undergrowth and our Lauragais landscapes (canal bridge tunnel, wheat fields, sunflower fields, etc.).
The Vélorail du Lauragais is like travelling back in time. In the distance, the village of Saint-Félix-Lauragais dominates, with its 14th-century collegiate church and castle. Make your way to the Montfort tower to enjoy the view. You will pass through a 35-metre tunnel under the "rigole de la plaine ouvrage" of the Canal du Midi. The railway offers a superb view over the fields of the Lauragais region, with the Pyrenees in the background (on a clear day).
Departures are from the Lac de Lenclas. There are picnic tables around the lake, an on-site guinguette restaurant, a children's play area and a cycle path around the lake and on to Lac de St-Ferréol. Free on-site parking.
