The church dates back to the 12th century but was extensively remodelled after the First World War following the severe damage it suffered.
It still has its original baptismal font, and if you look up, you can see its modillions – figurative sculptures supporting the cornice – running around the apse in particular. Similar ones can be found in other buildings in the Laon region (such as the Templar chapel in Laon, which dates from the same period).
It is worth noting that it is dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and was listed as a historic monument just before the war, in May 1914.
