Description

Stroll through the narrow, flower-filled streets of the village of La Patache and you'll find a complete change of scenery in this unusual village, with its houses built into the hillside. As you stroll through the heart of the village, you'll catch sight of the flood ladder, evidence of the Loire's many mischievous floods.
You're sure to come across some "Patachons", who will be delighted to tell you all about their lovely village.

For fishing enthusiasts, this is the ideal spot.

Formerly known as "Port-Hamelin", this small village of fishermen and bargemen is now called "La Patache", after the old disused boat moored there and which served as a customs office for monitoring the river and transporting goods, particularly salt, which was once installed there in the 17th and 18th centuries.

From the Champalud panorama in Champtoceaux, take the green signposted "Contes et Légendes" trail, which leads directly to La Patache via the banks of the Loire.
