Concevreux Church

The original building was probably constructed in the 11th century; it underwent major alterations in the 12th and 18th centuries before being razed to the ground in 1918 following fighting on the Chemin des Dames.

The Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul that you see today dates from the reconstruction period and was built in the Art Deco style.

Note the curious feature at the entrance to the cemetery: a baptismal font dating from early Christianity, brought here from Saint-Denis at the end of the 9th century to save it from being pillaged by the Normans...
