Dedicated to Saint-Gervais-et-Saint-Protais, this church was built in the 12th century - when the village was part of the Origny-Sainte-Benoîte abbey near Saint-Quention - and was largely rebuilt after the First World War due to the destruction it had suffered.
It was in this commune that the first French tanks were assembled for the Nivelle offensive on 16 April 1917. Their objective was to break through the German lines near Juvincourt.
Of the 128 tanks involved, 81 were put out of action...
The nearby tank monument at Berry-au-Bac commemorates the sacrifice of these crews.
