The estate is in Monein, in the heart of the Jurançon AOC, and close to the church of St.Girons with its famous woodwork and Historic Monument status. Archives reveal the existence of Château Lafitte from as far back as the 14th century. At the time its land formed a vast agricultural property, where vines and wine played an important role in the life of the estate. However, this activity ceased and it was only with the arrival of Brigitte and Philippe Arraou that the château reconnected with its historic past. Their children have carried on this link with the past; the current vineyard has five hectares of vines, which are entirely harvested using biodynamic cultivation. The wines, aged in oak barrels from the south west, ferment spontaneously, without adding raising agents, and thus convey the natural aromas of the grape varieties.
