It is possible to fish in the pond. To do so, you need to buy a fishing permit. You can buy them at Pays de Gex Tourist Office branches or online. The Etang de Colovrex was awarded the "ENS" label by the Département de l'Ain in 2015, along with the Bois Durand and Bois Perdriaux. True natural and landscaped jewels of the Ain department, sites with the ENS "Espaces naturels sensibles" label are managed to preserve the biodiversity they host, and developed to be open to the public (with exceptions due to the fragility of the environments).
