Ailles monument

This strange, isolated monument awaits you at the bottom of the RD 102: it is a commemorative stele erected by the Touring Club de France in 1932 on the very site of the village of Ailles, which was completely razed to the ground during the terrible fighting of 1917...
Note the dedication of the monument: ‘Here was Ailles’.
