"One cannot constantly talk about the terroir without doing something to protect it" - This is the credo of Claire Villars-Lurton, owner of Château Haut-Bages Libéral, 5th Grand Cru Classé in 1855 in Pauillac. Determined to protect this exceptional place and to pass on to her children a healthy vineyard, Claire has been renewing for several years with an ancestral and sustainable viticulture.
Since 2007, organic viticulture, biodynamics, agroecology and agroforestry have become her best allies, allowing Château Haut-Bages Liberal to finally express the true nature of its terroir through the elaboration of Great Living Wines. The vineyard of Château Haut-Bages Libéral, located on the historic plateau of Bages, benefits from a direct proximity to the Gironde Estuary
