




This first stage of the Tour des Bauges offers a beautiful crossing of the large Nordic plateau (France's 1st cross-country skiing site), alternating between vast coniferous forests, large mountain pastures and ridge passes at Mont Revard.

1/ 1-Leave La Féclaz and head into the vast Revard forest above the grooming machine area. - 2- Continue past the accrobranche course and the Gornaz sled dog area (private forest, please respect the instructions given by the owner and musher). - 3- The trail passes the Pas du Rebolion and then the gîte de la Gaillarde, home of the sled dog kennel (another possible stopover). - 4- Cross the Aix/Le Revard road to climb up to the Revard belvedere. Cross the alpine garden, then skim the other "Revard loops". - 5- At the summit junction of the Crémaillère itinerary (former route of the cogwheel railway, link with Aix-les-Bains - East Angle loop 1487 m), continue along the ridge path to the East Angle Tower (summit 1563 m). - 6- Descend into the forest, cross the Aix/Le Revard road again and reach the La Clusaz chalets. - 7- Continue via Chalets Mermet and Chalet de La Plate to reach the Creux de Lachat refuge (8) not far from the Col de la Cochette. - 8- Lodging available at the refuge, or further down to the Fruitière gîte d'étape in the village of Arith.
