The village of Mouterre-Silly evokes the diversity and richness of the Loudunais country with 3 Romanesque churches (Saint-Maximin of 12th -13th centuries, Chapel of Saint-Mandé and Notre-Dame de Chasseignes 13th and 14th centuries) , a village full of History emerging from a croup where the view embraces a vast panorama, 12 castles and houses, including the Château de la Fuye - 16th century - (private site), built on stilts, integrated into a beautiful park, fed with water by a spring. Pigeon houses, turrets, spiral-roofed towers express in their appearance the architectural tradition of the Renaissance. The first village was built at the foot of the hill, then the village moved to the top of the hill because of the Merovingian wars.
