Description
Villers Abbey, founded in 1146, is, with its majestic ruins, one of the most prestigious testimonies to the life of the Cistercian monks.
The abbey reflects many architectural styles that have succeeded one another in our region. While experiencing a second heyday in the 18th century, the abbey was sacked in 1794 with the monks leaving in 1796.
