Just twenty minutes from Clermont-Ferrand, the Val d'Allier Ecopôle, a 140-hectare site including 30 hectares of water, is located in the communes of Pérignat-ès-Allier and La Roche-Noire.
Hiking: milan, pond and Allier trails.
The SEAT (Syndicat d'Etudes et d'Aménagement Touristique), created in 1996 and made up of two Communities of Communes (Billom Communauté and Mond'Arverne Communauté), manages the Ecopôle site, a private site open to the public.
Made up of former gravel pits, major ecological work carried out in partnership with the LPO Auvergne has encouraged the return of biodiversity to this former industrial site. This emblematic site of ecological transition is destined to become an educational site reconciling human activities and environmental protection.
Located on a migratory route, it is possible to observe over 227 species of birds, as well as all kinds of reptiles, amphibians and a wide variety of flora.
Free access.
