In the immediate vicinity of the train station and the Convention Center, and just a stone's throw from the famous Place Stanislas, the Salle Poirel and Galerie Poirel form a lively cultural hub that extends far beyond Nancy!
THE SALLE POIREL
A veritable showcase, the Salle Poirel is a jewel in Nancy's historic heritage. Every season, the venue is alive with concerts of chanson, jazz and classical music, not to mention comedy shows, encounters and many other discoveries.

GALERIE POIREL
From the moment it opened in 1888, the Galerie Poirel appeared to the public and to artists as a place with all the conditions of space and light. The École de Nancy found a home here in 1894 with the founding exhibition of this movement. In 1926, the people of Lorraine discovered the great Surrealist artists, and then, from 1935 to 1950, the Corbin collection of decorative art, which formed the basis of the Musée de l'École de Nancy when it was founded in 1964. This was followed by a series of exhibitions encouraging visitors to discover the decorative and visual arts.

TRAITS D'UNION BY ROBERT STADLER
In 2013, the city of Nancy wanted to signal a new beginning for Galerie Poirel. As part of a national procedure, it commissioned a permanent creation from designer Robert Stadler. This public commission was carried out with the support of the Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication and in conjunction with the Métropole du Grand Nancy.

The Traits d'union artistic proposal is conceived as a triple intervention, visible on the façade, on the forecourt and inside the exhibition gallery. Luminous discs and movable sculptures draw directly on the building's "DNA", borrowing colors and materials from it. The project as a whole takes the architectural context as its starting point and projects it into the present, through a dynamic rewriting of existing elements, expressing the idea of movement and speed in an urban environment.

Inaugurated on July 4, 2013, Traits d'union brings together contemporary art, design and heritage, giving a contemporary signature to the architectural ensemble.
