Domaine la Tulipe Rouge
Description
Located in the heart of the IGP appellation "vin de l'agenais", the name Tulipe Rouge is a reminder that Agen has a protected red tulip.
Currently, the vineyard covers 4 hectares. It is concentrated on the southern slopes of the farm on plots that were planted with vines before or shortly after phylloxera.
In this part of the Lot-et-Garonne region called the Pays de Serres, the old farmers had opted for an intelligent agriculture:
- The southern slopes were in vineyards
- The northern slopes were in meadows for the breeding
- The bottom of the valleys were used for vegetable and fruit growing
- The plateaus were devoted to cereals
