Lake Enchanet

Description

A long winding ribbon of 17 km and 410 ha fed by the mountainous waters of the Maronne.
Its 69m high arch dam was built in 1950 to produce electricity. The spruce-wooded slopes that border it give it the proud appearance of a mountain lake. The lake is home to one of Europe's largest heronries, and predator fishing is an unforgettable experience: day permit (€12) or holiday permit (€33) on sale at www.cartedepeche.fr or from Camping Paradis La Gineste.
Beach facilities + boat launch: La Gineste (southern bank) and Longayroux (northern bank).
