A few centuries later, the English, wine lovers, facilitated the export of the production, enriching the wine-producing towns. Sire Amanieu VII owned the lands of the domain from 1228 to 1326, and sat on the council of Kings Edward I and Edward II of England. He was the first of a long line of Gascon lords, allied to the English, to benefit from royal largesse
