Clos Uroulat is set on the hillsides of Monein, a village near Pau in the heart of the Jurançon AOC region, and near to the church of St. Girons.
Charles Hours and his daughter Marie have set themselves a daily challenge; to preserve the authenticity of the taste of the local wines and grape varieties. They pay special attention to the four hectares of vines and land and this allows them to practise sustainable agriculture. This is a modern approach to winemaking and their success shows that it is working. Father and daughter have two distinct personalities and this has led to the development of two ranges, the ‘Tradi’ and the ‘Trendy’, which are traditional and new generation wines respectively. Jurançon purists may well prefer Charles’s traditional range whereas others may prefer Marie’s more modern twist.
