Valérie BORNAND

Originally from a sculptural background, Valérie Bornand has been practicing printmaking since 2013 in addition to drawing and paper cutting. She sees in the practice of sculpture and engraving a number of similarities. Direct cutting removes material just like engraving on the copper plate. Working with engraving or sculpture in bronze requires the use of other materials and the development of a process that does not give immediate access to the final object. This is what the artist likes.
