A gourmet family specialty, La Maison Godet-Wagonnet created the famous Wagotine®, born one day in February 1937 from an encounter as greedy as it was fortuitous between grandfather Émile and the sight of a pièce-montée. While strolling through his hometown of Metz, where he worked as a factory worker, Émile spotted the beauty, all decked out in mouth-watering choux and nougatine, through the window of a pastry shop. A great gourmand before the Eternal, our grandfather hastened to question the craftsman who had created the confection, determined to learn how to make it himself. As the years went by, Émile went from being a passionate beginner to an excellent craftsman, to the point where he was able to stand on his own two feet. An experienced confectioner, one day he decided to make a pretty nougatine wagon, identical to those he used to load in his factory. It was an immediate success, winning over family and customers alike, to the point where the tradition has been handed down from father to son for 60 years, and will continue for a long time to come...
