This lake is located in the crystalline massif of the Aiguilles Rouges, between Passy and Servoz. Accessible by foot only. Magnificent views of the Fiz mountain range. The lake and its island are nestled under the Pointe Noire de Pormenaz.

Lake in the heart of the crystalline Pormenaz mountains. The relief is "moutonné", with hard, rounded granite rocks alternating with hollows: peat bogs and laouchets (small lakes) left by the glacier some 10,000 years ago. An impressive diversity of flora, including numerous rhododendrons in early summer.

To get there from Plaine Joux, you can either take the Chorde or the Argentières route.
La Chorde is a fairly steep trail, equipped with numerous handrails and ladders. This trail is not a nature reserve, so dogs are allowed on a leash.
