The Véloroute 81 from Bayonne to Perpignan is a superb trail for walkers and all wheelers. The chosen section is safe and easy to ride, offering views of the Claracq and Mirepeix bridge dams, the "Château de Baàs", a fine late 19th-century residence, and the Pyrenees chain on the way back. An interpretive trail takes you to the heart of the bastide town of Nay to discover its history.

Nay became so industrialised that it was given the nickname of Little Manchester in the 19th century. A short walk in town during which you’ll discover a fortified town built to a perfect plan, with its central square lined with arches and its grid pattern streets towered over by the church. The Pyrenees so close by, the presence of water and the richness of our heritage all add to the charm of this very easy ride on a cycle route; accessible to all, it can be extended as far as the Baburet footbridge. BR® 43 and BR® 44 can be combined for a beautiful route alternating between the right and left banks of the Gave de Pau.
