By taking advantage of a quick transfer by TER train, one can envisage a beautiful bike ride along the Basque coast. The itinerary begins in the heart of Guéthary, with a balcony overlooking its small port where the memory of the whale hunters from the 12th to the 14th century hovers in the air, as fishing is anchored in the Getarian soul. The coastal cliffs are full of lookouts over the ocean, once used by whale and ship watchers, which the tour proposed here does not fail to compile in a magnificent two-wheeled stroll. A first loop visits the inland and discreetly reaches the neighboring town of Bidart. Heritage, beaches and villas follow one another until passing through Guéthary. The second part of the itinerary flirts with the coastal path, towards Saint-Jean-de-Luz by the beaches of Acotz, on lanes dedicated to bicycles.

The Voie Verte de l'Uhabia is a soft path, shared by pedestrians and bicycles. This 6km walk starts at the Uhabia estuary, runs along its banks, bypasses the Ur Onea retention basin and continues to the Bassilour mill. It is then extended by a cycle path to the Izarbel technology park Nature" stops with wooden furniture, pontoons and reading tables are scattered along the route... These elements along the walk are appreciated by all members of the family. The Voie Verte de l'Uhabia allows you to cross Bidart from west to east and to discover the village in a different way.

This walk between sea and countryside takes in the new Voie Verte in Bidart, from the mouth of the Uhabia to the Bassilour mill. Its hard, rolling sand-colored surface will be a landmark. Well-equipped, it will delight families with its footbridges, play areas and rest areas. Posts provide orientation at every crossroads. Its unusual length makes it perfectly accessible all the way to the chapel.

The first part of the coastal path offers a great diversity of atmospheres, alternating beaches, creeks, paths and small roads. The arrival at the point of Sainte-Barbe, from which you can dominate the bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, is exceptional. An advice... to be done preferably at low tide. Warning : the coastal path is temporarily closed between Bidart and Guéthary, a deviation is set up at the level of the chapel St Joseph.

The Basque Corniche connects the bay of Saint-Jean-De-Luz and the Bay of Hendaye. The Jaï Alaï (covered fronton) is the place where the mythical games of Cesta Punta take place in the Basque Country. It is located at the entrance to Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Initiations to Basque pelota are offered by the local club "Luzean" from Monday to Friday in July and August with a qualified instructor. Entering the 16th-century church, the eye is immediately drawn to the 3-storey galleries built in 1636 and the impressive beams that support them. The organ was built in 1959, on the site of the former "astotegia", a place once reserved for the village notables. Looking up at the ceiling, we see an ex-voto ship, as found in most coastal churches. The choir was restored in 1970 to adapt it to the new liturgy dictated by the Second Vatican Council.

The Koskenia Watchtower is located on the Atalaye plateau.

One of the most beautiful promontories of the Basque coast, halfway between Sainte-Barbe and Erromadie, at the top of two flysch cliffs, a kind of mille-feuille alternating hard and soft rocks. This place is known under the name of Archiloa which means "stone with a hole" in Basque language; a cross is set up there. The place is classified as a Sensitive Natural Area.

The Chapel of St. Joseph, located in the Parlementia district, has a large porch with a special font, from where you can follow the ceremonies. This porch may have been the section reserved for the "cagots", (reputed descendants of lepers).

The Micro-Folie digital museum in Saint-Jean-de-Luz opened its doors in October 2025 on the first floor of the Villa Ducontenia. This virtual gallery offers an innovative artistic experience, with the possibility of discovering thousands of works thanks to collaboration with 12 national cultural establishments, as well as international and regional museums: paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, contemporary dance, music and more. It encourages curiosity, is aimed at all audiences, and is a genuine tool for artistic and cultural education. Each week, a theme is chosen, allowing visitors to discover a selection of works.
