This 7 km greenway is part of a vast project linking Lourdes to Bayonne along the Gave de Pau and the Adour. On this short stage between Gelos and Mazères-Lezons, we'll discover Le Pradeau and its sports facilities, the footbridge over the Gave with its view of Pau Castle, the stud farm and the dam via the saligue. The route is very gentle, mostly along the water?s edge and under the trees.

In a very beautiful environment, this itinerary is a real initiation to hiking. Discover the characteristic landscapes of the Béarnais hillsides: deciduous forests on steep terrain, Jurançon PDO vineyards and views of the Pyrenees.

This magnificent course was opened for the canoe-kayak slalom world cup in June 2009. A training course for kayaking, canoeing and rafting, it is open to walkers, who can enjoy a quiet stroll and the spectacle.

From the Hôtel du Département to the Château de Pau, from the Boulevard des Pyrénées to the Sentiers du Roy, it's a stroll through the centuries, accessible to pushchairs and wheelchairs thanks to the funicular and the lift at the Tour de la Monnaie. The castle gates are closed from 6 pm.

For pilgrims on the Arles route arriving on foot from Lourdes or directly from Pau, there is a connecting route to Lescar, the gateway to the Arles route. This route is the GR 782 between Lourdes and Lescar, marked in red and white like all GRs. In Lescar, you'll pay your respects at Notre Dame de l'Assomption cathedral, admire the view of the Pyrenees and meet up with other pilgrims at the gîte jacquaire.

This circuit allows you to discover the Palais Beaumont, its park with its rare essences and the 19th century English villas which embellish the city. You have the possibility to couple this walk with the one on the "west side", for a nice hike or a jog in the city.
