Built on the remains of a gallo-roman villa, Prayssas is a magnificent castral village built around its church. Classified as a Historic Monument in 1965, the church of Saint-Jean de Prayssas is the heart of the village. Victim of the wars of religion, the building is a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic parts. The 15th century mural frescoes decorating the vault represent the four evangelists and their respective attributes. They have greatly contributed to the fame of the church, whose choir and 12th century bay are also admirable. In addition to the village of Prayssas and its church, this route will make you discover about fifteen dovecotes, most of them made of stone, square in shape and associated with traditional farm buildings, and you will enjoy interesting views of the region.

The primitive church of the XIth century, of which only the apse and the choir bay remain, was enlarged in the XIVth century with the addition of an imposing nave and 3 chapels on each side, vaulted with ogives like the nave. The choir bay that was walled up during the Revolution has been reopened, revealing a triumphal arch, typical of Romanesque churches, as well as original frescoes representing the four evangelists. To the west, the entrance portal dates from the 17th century. The bell tower, with a square plan, is mounted on the choir of the primitive church and was raised in recent times.

The parish church of Notre-Dame was listed as a historical monument in 2005 and dates from the same period. In the 16th century, the two western chapels were added to the building and the vaulting of the first two bays of the nave was completed during a restoration campaign in the 19th century.

If Lusignan-Petit is a pretty village in the Pays de Serres thanks to its large buildings, such as the 16th-century church of Notre-Dame, it's its everyday buildings that give it its charm: take time to admire the stone mansions, the covered wash-house with its stone fountain, or the elegant and impressive 18th-century windmill at Sabrecul, in such perfect condition that the smell of flour almost comes to our noses? Finally, turn your attention to the landscape that opens out onto the opposite hillside, dominated by Lusignan-Grand, and the valley carved out by the St-Martin stream below.

Located on the hillsides of the Lot valley, Marie and Cyrille will welcome you in their bakery to make you discover the secrets of the making of sourdough bread, as well as their honey and gingerbread. Old-fashioned bread, with organic flours, pure natural leaven, with local varieties from the Lot-et-Garonne, without additives. Various breads: old wheat, wholemeal, multigrain, small spelt, rye, gluten-free, corn, other special breads and family pastries. Many construction phases were necessary to reach the present state of the church. The church was probably built in the 12th century and has undergone numerous restorations over the centuries. Only a few parts of the nave and the choir, which is completed by a hemicycle apse, remain from this first period of construction. St Peter's Church has a bell dating from 1595 made at the request of Jehanne de Preissas and Charles Montezet.
