On the Fraisse plateau, overlooking the Saint-Martin and Goutère valleys, the village of Madaillan stands proud: its various dovecotes, including the astonishing twin dovecote, its ashlar fountain, its 16th and 17th century houses and its old windmill make it a village rich in history. However, the most breathtaking aspect of this village is actually to be found outside it: dominating the Bourbon valley on the hillside, the feudal castle of Madaillan, built in the 13th century, is a living testimony to the architecture of medieval castles. If they say that stones speak, the stones of this stronghold speak louder, for it is open to the public and can be visited by appointment: Madaillan is waiting for you to discover it!
