Starting from the bastide of Laparade, this circuit overlooks the Lot valley. It then turns into the small valley of the Torgue, where rivers and hillside lakes irrigate the crops.

The fortress of Castelseigneur, the former name of this village, was founded in the 13th century on a promontory overlooking the Lot valley. To the north of the river, this circuit offers successive viewpoints on the villages of Grateloup, Verteuil-d'Agenais, Tourtrès, Tombeboeuf, Brugnac, Monclar-d'Agenais, etc

This short walk descends first into a deep valley to the north of the bastide. From the place called la Rocaille, the circuit overlooks the river, via the orientation table, the streets of the bastide and the belvedere of the public garden. The bastide of Laparade was founded in 1265 by Alphonse de Poitiers, brother of Saint Louis. It was easy to defend against possible attackers because it was situated on a plateau more than 155 m above the Lot valley. On the plateau side, to the north and west, the village was protected by ramparts and a deep moat, part of which remains today. Three gates were equipped with drawbridges and defended by a barbican. The village had a hospital and two churches: one in the village and one outside the fortifications at a place called "Touraille". A fortified castle, on the site of the public garden, dominated the valley.

Following in the footsteps of the La Vallée du Lot à Vélo itinerary, pedal along a stretch of greenway from Granges-sur-Lot to Villeneuve-sur-Lot, passing through Sainte-Livrade and Le-Temple-sur-Lot. It's a safe route, but you'll need to be careful if you're travelling with children, as you'll be passing through the communes of Le Temple-sur-Lot and Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot. A playground and rest area is available in Granges-sur-Lot. Numerous rest areas are also available along the route.

The GR® 654 crosses France from Vézelay in Burgundy. It crosses the Lot-et-Garonne from north to south for almost 150 km, from the plum trees of the Haut-Agenais to the sands of the Landes de Gascogne, passing through the Lot and Garonne valleys.

From the leisure port of Castelmoron, you will discover the banks of the river and the port, before climbing the winding road that leads to a wooded plateau. From the various hills you cross, you will see a succession of views of numerous pechs, villages and windmills. In the 13th century, the settlement grouped around the castle, on the banks of the river, took the name of Castelmoron which means "castle of the marshes". Then in the 19th century, the old "castle" was completely transformed with a Moorish style architecture, inspired by the Alhambra of Granada. Today, this "castle" is the town hall of Castelmoron.

You'll love taking the time to stroll through its 13th-century streets. The 3-storey gîte, opposite the church, has been completely renovated while retaining its original materials, cob and beams. On the ground floor, you enter the fully-equipped kitchen and dining area, a laundry room and a separate toilet complete the level. The 1st floor features a living room with sofa and TV, a separate bedroom (2x80x200, convertible), a shower room and WC. Second floor: bedroom (2x80x200, closable) with en-suite shower room. Le Temple-sur-Lot, with its Templar Commandery, Latour Marliac water lily garden and renowned sports center, is 12 km away. Numerous walks in the vicinity. No smoking.

This museum houses a unique collection which tells the history of the prune. The museum spans several rooms: the first displays a reconstruction of an early 20th century drying room with its different oven and drying kilns, showing how prunes are dried; the second room shows how the prunes are prepared and packaged in a workshop displaying the original machines and tools, and the third and final room houses a rare collection of original packaging, documents and archives, as well as a collection of ceramics and yokes. A video rounds off the visit, showing how prunes are grown and marketed in the present day.

France’s only Prune Museum tells the story of the prune, which was brought over from the Orient and came to thrive in Lot-et-Garonne. A video shows visitors how the fruit is cultivated over the season, and museum mascot Mam’zelle Prune invites families to take part in a fun-filled educational tour of the orchards. In summer, visitors can get lost in the jungle of corn, a treasure hunt which winds around the 1,500 m² of land. There is a special torchlight evening every Monday and Thursday, starting at 9pm in July and at 8.30pm in August. The site has direct access to the Lot, with a floating landing stage on the left bank of the river.

Built in 1269 by Alphonse de Poitiers, this military bastide was much coveted by the French and the English until it fell into decline in the 17th century. Today the town still follows its original layout surrounding the main square, which contains the original framework of a covered market and two remarkable ironwork wells.

Granges-sur-Lot is a bastide founded in 1291 by Edward I, at that time King of England with the abbot of Clairac. In 1345 the neighbouring lords, the lords of Montpezat, recovered the rights that the abbot had received. The village, which was practically destroyed during the Hundred Years' War, rose again around the 15th and 16th centuries, then fell victim to the Wars of Religion. Being an important centre of boatmen and close to the commercial agglomeration of the town of Clairac, the bastide remained under the obedience of the Montpezat family until the revolution.

This countryside mooring area has a floating landing stage on the left bank of the river, just upstream from the village itself. There is a footpath running alongside the Lot which leads to the village church, and picnic tables set in the shade. The area is equipped with a water and electricity supply and a slipway for launching boats.
