From the leisure port of Castelmoron, you will discover the banks of the river and the port, before climbing the winding road that leads to a wooded plateau. From the various hills you cross, you will see a succession of views of numerous pechs, villages and windmills. In the 13th century, the settlement grouped around the castle, on the banks of the river, took the name of Castelmoron which means "castle of the marshes". Then in the 19th century, the old "castle" was completely transformed with a Moorish style architecture, inspired by the Alhambra of Granada. Today, this "castle" is the town hall of Castelmoron.

The GR® 654 crosses France from Vézelay in Burgundy. It crosses the Lot-et-Garonne from north to south for almost 150 km, from the plum trees of the Haut-Agenais to the sands of the Landes de Gascogne, passing through the Lot and Garonne valleys.

Saint-Médard, Pérignac and Saint-Jean-de-la-Balerme, three of the seven churches of Montpezat- d'Agenais will punctuate your steps before reaching the wash house, nestled in the greenery at the foot of the village.

At the start, there are the steep streets of the village, its baker, its church, its windmill and its orientation table. Then, this circuit borders numerous orchards of plum trees of Ente and offers beautiful views on the site of the departure and the valley of the Lot.

Following in the footsteps of the La Vallée du Lot à Vélo itinerary, pedal along a stretch of greenway from Granges-sur-Lot to Villeneuve-sur-Lot, passing through Sainte-Livrade and Le-Temple-sur-Lot. It's a safe route, but you'll need to be careful if you're travelling with children, as you'll be passing through the communes of Le Temple-sur-Lot and Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot. A playground and rest area is available in Granges-sur-Lot. Numerous rest areas are also available along the route.

FISHING GITE. Come and recharge your batteries in this little village with character called Temple-sur-Lot which used to be a Templars commandery. It is located in the heart of the Lot valley, a few steps away from the vineyards of Bordeaux, Périgord, Quercy and the Landes forest.

A 5-minute walk from his nursery, scenographer and landscape designer Thierry HUAU invites you to discover the fascinating world of Joseph Bory LATOUR-MARLIAC, between house and garden. For the first time since his death in 1911, his house and garden will be open to the public in the summer of 2024, offering an astonishing voyage of discovery. The gardens, walls, mirrors and ceilings tell the story of an era when, thanks to industrialization, the birth of color photography and the unprecedented enthusiasm for horticulture, we witnessed the emergence of one of the world's greatest artistic movements, creating masterpieces in painting, literature, music and the decorative arts.

About 30km north-east of Agen, Nénuphars Latour-Marliac Garden is located in the village of Temple/Lot, near the river which receives water from its basins. Labelled as a “Remarkable Garden”, it is also the oldest nursery of water lilies in the world and the site of the National Collection of Water lilies. It is open from May to October, for the full flowering period of its 250 rustic and tropical species. The Latour-Marliac Water Lily Garden invites you to wander around a 2.5 ha park, from an exotic greenhouse which houses the Victoria giant water lily to a bamboo garden, from reservoirs surrounded by ponds to the Japanese bridge… It is possible to eat among the flowers in Marliacea Café and to buy plants on site, thinking of the painter Claude Monet who came here to find his water lilies in the late 19th century.

Discover this unconventional vegetable garden and follow the guide through the spaces he has created: the star with the sacred number, the herb dryer, the henhouse, the pond, the aromatic garden, the beehives, the pond? Paul will take you on a journey of discovery of unusual cultivation methods. He will show you these "weeds" or pests that become allies in his words. He will talk to you about electroculture, magnetoculture, grelinette and campagnole, he will even make you listen to an unusual concert of plants? The most curious will be able to discuss his preparations based on nettles, horsetail or comfrey to help his crops get through viral, fungal or insect attacks. This 17th century sculpted wooden altar piece is listed as part of the Centre des Monuments Nationaux sites of interest.

On the edge of the Lot, on the right bank, Fongrave was founded around a Fontevriste priory, in the Middle Ages, certainly in the 12th century. Worth a visit: its former Fontevristes nunnery, its 17th century Retable in sculpted wood (listed historical monument) and the Chapel of Notre Dame de Tout Pouvoir.

Located between 2 EDF dams, this course measures 9.8 km. Access to the Lot is facilitated by the presence of boat slips, a fishing pontoon accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM) and secure areas. Pontoons follow the bank and allow walkers and fishermen to have a privileged access to the bank and the parking lots allow cars with trailers and camping-cars to settle near their fishing site. It is also surrounded by several lodgings with the "Fishing Lodging" label, allowing the reception of fishermen with adapted facilities. A kingdom of trophy fish with record-sized carnivores and white fish, this night carp fishing course is also a high spot for sporting competitions... Perfect for discovering or perfecting your techniques from the shore, by boat or float-tube!
