Description
In 1875, in the small Lot-et-Garonne town of Le Temple-sur-Lot, a hybridizer invented colored water lilies, which became a masterpiece for painter Claude MONET.
A 5-minute walk from his nursery, scenographer and landscape designer Thierry HUAU invites you to discover the fascinating world of Joseph Bory LATOUR-MARLIAC, between house and garden.
For the first time since his death in 1911, his house and garden will be open to the public in the summer of 2024, offering an astonishing voyage of discovery.
The gardens, walls, mirrors and ceilings tell the story of an era when, thanks to industrialization, the birth of color photography and the unprecedented enthusiasm for horticulture, we witnessed the emergence of one of the world's greatest artistic movements, creating masterpieces in painting, literature, music and the decorative arts.
