This 7.3 km walk leads you to discover the commune of Lageon and its rich heritage and landscape Departure from the church square.

Departing from the Gourgé village hall, you'll set off on a 27 km red difficulty trail. It's a really interesting route, both in terms of scenery and technical difficulty, as you alternate constantly between asphalt and paths. The route is a real pain in the ass, with numerous ascents and descents. You'll cross the River Thouet several times at ford crossings, so be careful not to slip in the water! This route can be split in two by cutting through the village. A 13 km loop to the south and a 14 km loop to the north.

Come and discover the fauna and flora of the largest lake in the Deux-Sèvres department, which is both a drinking water reserve (a water treatment plant is associated with the dam) and an ornithological reserve. Property of the Conseil général des Deux-Sèvres, the Cébron lake offers a multitude of landscapes changing with the seasons. It presents an important biological richness and shelters in particular numerous species of birds. Come and discover its biodiversity by taking advantage of the many nature activities offered on the site (nature outings, exhibitions, hiking, fishing, sailing...)! This circuit can be started in several places. However, an existing parking area at the place called Monplaisir allows you to start on the Voie Verte, a pedestrian axis on the old railroad that linked Parthenay to Bressuire. After crossing the Bois du Theil and seeing some views of the surrounding fields, exit at the level crossing of the Parthenay-Fénery road at a place called Le Piogé. You then go along the property of Theil with some views on the castle or the ponds. As you pass by, you will see buildings from the end of the 19th century at Sainte-Anne and Notre-Dame. From La Timarière, a small wild and shaded path between woods and meadows brings us back to the starting point.

Futuroscope, Puy du Fou, Marais Poitevin, Chateaux de la Loire, Atlantic Ocean are accessible by car in around 1 hour/1 and a half. The house includes - 2 bedrooms (2 double bed ans 1 single bed), 1 living room (3 additionnal sleeping : a sofa bed and a bench), 1 kitchen, 1 bathroom, 1 WC and 1 laundry (washing machine) The house has an independent enclosed courtyard. The gîte is located in the heart of the medieval quarter. On the first floor, there is a garage for bicycles and strollers, but no cars. The gîte comprises an open-plan space on the second floor, divided into a living room, kitchen and dining area with a medieval fireplace. This floor opens onto a courtyard with garden furniture. The second floor comprises the master bedroom with double bed (140 cm x 190 cm) overlooking the medieval street, a second bedroom with two single beds (90 cm x 190 cm), a study, toilet and shower. The interior of the gîte is non-smoking. Down the street, you'll find a bar-grocer's store 50 meters away, as well as other bars and restaurants 200 meters away, near the Saint-Jacques tower and the Thouet river. Further up the street, the town center is around 300 meters away, offering bakeries, bars and restaurants. Minimum 2-night booking

This former parish church, now disused in favour of a new church, seems to date for the most part from the 13th century (broken arches of the portals). Devastated during the Wars of Religion, the church was covered with a frame at the end of the 16th and beginning of the 17th century. The painted decoration is difficult to date. Tombstones date from the 17th-18th centuries. The building was sold in 1875 by the town council.

With its moats, canon holes, wooden gallery hourds and drawbridge (in working order), this 14th century castle provides a true picture of life in the Middle Ages.

Created in the 80's for the drinking water resource, the site is part of the network of sites designated as Sensitive Natural Spaces. This policy of the department works in favor of biodiversity, while opening to the public. One area is open all year round for walking with a picnic table and a petanque court, while a second area is open from June 1st to the last Sunday in January for fishing and hiking.

Located in the heart of the Gâtine region, a stone's throw from Parthenay in the Deux-Sèvres, La Berthonnière has been cultivating a passion for generations: working with nature to produce tasty fruits and vegetables for the general public and the wholesale trade. The family farm, developed since 1930, has been able to expand its domain over the years with a sensitivity for direct sales to the store as well as the picking of fruit and more recently vegetables thanks to the arrival of two market gardeners.

In limit with the commune of Châtillon-su-Thouet, the bridge of Sunay spans the Cébron. This medieval bridge is one of the oldest in the canton of Parthenay. Currently in the middle of meadows, it was located on the former main road from Parthenay to Bressuire. On the other side of the pond, another medieval bridge is located in the commune of Châtillon.

Close to the Notre Dame de l'Arceau chapel in Maisontiers, settle down for a picnic in peace and quiet. Go back down into the village to discover the castle of Maisontiers, which will be open for outdoor visits from August 1st to September 14th, 2019 from 10am to 12pm and from 2:30pm to 6:30pm every day and for the Heritage Days which will take place on September 21st and 22nd, at the same hours (free visit).

The château dates from the late 15th and early 16th centuries, and is surrounded by a wall and moat. A private site, it is possible to visit the exteriors freely during the summer season. Free admission. In 2024, outdoor tours are available from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., from August 1 to September 13, and for the European Heritage Days on September 21 and 22.

Ô Trois Oliviers is a comfortable house that was once the hay barn of the neighboring farm. A few years ago it underwent a major renovation to a high standard and the current owners (Graeme and Alison) continue to add to its charm. The garden has three olive trees which were planted by the original owners, Michel and Jocelyne, and we have named each of the rooms after a well-known French olive variety. Graeme and Alison have travelled extensively for their work for many years and their experience of hotels and B&B's has formed the basis for the renovation of the three rooms. They all have en-suite showers and are well furnished, with charging points for the many electrical appliances we all carry these days. The bedside lamps even have a USB plug.
