This relatively flat route follows grassy or sandy paths. The landscape is varied, with pollarded oaks, maritime pines and gallery forests. You'll also discover the Bez stream and its springs. The Landes forest is a vast cultivated field. More than 90% of it remains privately owned, which is an exception at the national level. If you look up, you can see the clear differences in height between the different pine forests. These disparities are the result of an exploitation that is rooted in the history of the territory... And of a long term work! The final cut, after several clearings, only takes place after 40 years of maturation. It sometimes happened that only the children saw the result of the father's work. Gemmage is a traditional activity which consists of wounding the pine to extract the resin. This complex, fragrant material is distinct from the sap (the "blood" of the tree) but is a healing agent and a repellent for insects. In the 19th century and in the first half of the 20th century, each village had dozens of gemmakers. The distillation of the resin gave turpentine and rosin, two substances used to make varnishes, paints, medicines and household products. Global competition put an end to this traditional activity in the 1980s.

The construction of the Saint-Pierre de Boos church remains a mystery, but it can be dated to the 12th-13th century. Records of the church date back to the 14th century, when it was associated with the miraculous fountain of Saint Clair, which explains why it houses an oak statue of Saint Clair. Supposed to heal eye diseases, the saint seems to be imploring the sky while a child at his feet points out his sick eyes. In the 14th century, the church of Saint-Pierre de Boos abandoned its original patron saint to dedicate itself to Saint Clair, whose miraculous fountain attracted pilgrims until the 20th century. Thanks to the short-lived profits generated by the plantation and exploitation of pine trees in the region, the church was completely rebuilt in 1903. In Rion des Landes, the Fontaine Saint-Jean or "la houn de Sen Yan" and its mineral and ferruginous water has been known for a long time, so much so that in 1839, the creation of a thermal establishment was even mentioned. Nestled in the hollow of the meanders of the Maubay stream, it had, according to the ancients, a water whose quality cured skin diseases, warts and tumors. Until the end of the 19th century, a procession went every 24th June to the fountain decorated with flowers for the occasion. The parish priest would then bless a large fire in front of the village church. Nowadays, coins visible at the bottom of the fountain's basin still prove that this site is still frequented and, if not miraculous, offers a pleasant coolness.
