From the Hôtel du Département to the Château de Pau, from the Boulevard des Pyrénées to the Sentiers du Roy, it's a stroll through the centuries, accessible to pushchairs and wheelchairs thanks to the funicular and the lift at the Tour de la Monnaie. The castle gates are closed from 6 pm.

From Pau to Lourdes, the route continues up the Gave de Pau, from the Pyrénées-Atlantiques province to the gates of the Hautes-Pyrénées, or from Béarn to Bigorre. The soap factory was founded by Édouard and Émile Roussille in 1831. When the soap factory was still in operation, the expression “ça sent Roussille!" was used when the scent of the soap factory reached the Boulevard des Pyrénées.

A gave is the generic name given to rivers (large or small), located in Béarn, Bigorre and Chalosse (south of the Landes).

Crossing the renaissance gardens of the castle, you arrive in front of the Tour de la Monnaie (the Mint tower). Currency bearing the effigy of the King of France was coined there until the Revolution. On the reverse side these coins bore the Béarn vaquetas ('calves'). Called 'Camp Batailhé', Place de la Monnaie was the scene of duels and judgements of God. It became the site of craftsmen's workshops.

Jurançon is a small town on the outskirts of South Pau. You are at 5 mn from the castle Henri IV and the historical district with the shops, from the golf of Billère (15 minutes on foot) and the one of Artiguelouve (8 kms). The independent house is comfortable, with a neat and modern decoration in the center of Jurançon with all the conveniences on foot. For your walks and hikes, for skiing, you are close to the vineyards of Jurançon, the two valleys of the Pyrenees Aspe and Ossau (at 45 mn). There is a parking space in the courtyard and a bicycle shelter. The garden brings you the pleasure of a natural place while being in town.
