Opposite the church in Petit-Palais, go around it to the left, taking the road downhill. Continue straight ahead on the D121, then at the crossroads take the D119 opposite. Cross the small bridge over the ‘Le Palais’ stream, then leave the road.

The Romanesque Church of the Holy Cross dates from the 12th century. The rectangular nave is illuminated by high and narrow windows. The altar cross is in Spanish style. The crenellated bell tower is from the 16th century. After the Revolution, the church was annexed to that of Guîtres.

The 11th-century abbey church of Notre Dame, which protected the village in bygone days, boasts a magnificent Saintonge-style portal. Its interior framework, constructed entirely of oak, was most probably the work of local shipwrights.

The apse and the bell tower of this 12th century church are listed in the inventory of Historical Monuments.

The church of Saint-Martin, located in the heart of the village and surrounded by its cemetery, is a building that dates back to the Romanesque period Only the semicircular apse and the right choir bay remain from this period. The rest of the building was entirely rebuilt in 1864 by the diocesan architect Pierre-Auguste Labbé. A central nave and two aisles, as well as a western facade topped by a large bell tower bear witness to this reconstruction in the neo-Romanesque style.

The Moulin de Laubardemont, on the Isle between Sablons and Coutras, was built in the 2nd half of the 15th century. Like the other mills, it bears witness to a rich industrial past, crushing peanuts from Senegal.

This Renaissance well, the only vestige of Odet de Foix's castle, built in the 16th century and destroyed in the 18th century, was built by the Marshal of Saint-André who had bought the castle in 1549 and created a garden and park around the building, which was embellished by this small construction. At the corners of a hexagonal curbstone rise fluted Doric columns on the upper two thirds. They support an entablature whose frieze bears roses and a sword cutting the knots of a cable, illustration of the motto inscribed on a banner: Nodos virtute resolvo - (value overcomes difficulties). On the ledge's protrusions are vases. A dome of ashlar with scales supports a tempietto on a square base with ionic columns. The date 1551 is engraved in a block surmounted by a carved group depicting a figure sitting on a monster.

The church of Saint-Pierre d'Abzac was first built in the 12th century and then extensively rebuilt in the 19th century, after the destruction caused by the Revolution of 1789. The present bell tower which dominates the valley of the Isle was rebuilt in 1857 above the Romanesque dome which still has its 17th century paintings. At the same time, the nave was rebuilt. The pulpit comes from the church of Saint-Jean de Libourne and the great wooden Christ from the Abbey of Faize. The church has some interesting paintings. This building was registered in the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments in 1925.
