The two wet docks were built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries on the left bank of the Garonne. These basins were the nerve centers of Bordeaux and maritime activity on the eve of the First World War the First World War. Today, the 160 hectares of industrial and port wasteland are being transformed a mixed-use district in the midst of an architectural transformation, with ambitious residential, cultural and leisure projects, while preserving its maritime heritage. From the Cenon railway station, this route follows the GR Bordeaux Métropole and its access to Bassens, then the GR 655 to La Gorp station. It passes through Lormont?s Parc de l?Hermitage, a successful example of brownfield redevelopment, then through the center of Lormont, dominated by its imposing Saint Martin church. Passing under the Pont d?Aquitaine bridge, it reaches Bassens, crosses Parc Séguinaud, from where you can see the port facilities, then the town center with its curious Saint Barthélémy church, and finally Parc Beauval, renowned for its château and Bolée wind turbine. On leaving the park, the GR 655 takes you to La Gorp railway station. This route is proposed by the Comité Régional de Randonnée Pédestre. Departing from a train station or TER bus stop, it allows you to join a walking or hiking itinerary, and take a stroll in ecomobility!

This cycle route is the ideal way to discover Bordeaux for the first time. Set in the heart of the Port de la Lune along the Garonne, this route invites cyclists to discover classic Bordeaux, with its 18th-century facades and stone bridge, wooded and recreational Bordeaux, with the Parc aux Angéliques and Botanical Gardens, as well as contemporary and alternative Bordeaux, with Darwin and the crossing of the Chaban-Delmas lift bridge.

The Cypressat natural park, with its cypress avenue and its shade, welcomes the public. The route leads you to a belvedere which offers a magnificent panorama of the surrounding towns and in particular of Bordeaux. The Palmer Park covers 25 hectares. It is a very nice place to walk and discover beautiful views of Bordeaux. It consists of vast rolling meadows, alleys lined with trees and flowers. Château Palmer belonged to Charles Palmer, Mayor of Bath and Major of the English armies who fought against Napoleon during the Spanish War. On the Bordeaux side, a vast stone terrace is supported by four pairs of Doric columns. Cycling to the beach from the city centre of Bordeaux, in complete safety, may seem unrealistic. However, this route has existed for a long time in its peri-urban part backed by the departmental cycle path built in 1980 by the General Council on the site of a former railway line of local interest.

This family outing offers you a beautiful series of panoramas on the left bank of the city (Palmer Park, Belvédère Bellevue, Parc de l'Ermitage Sainte-Catherine). With the exception of a necessary ascent to reach the top of the hill, the short and relatively flat walk is accessible to all.
