In the heart of the Landes de Gascogne, this character house, restored in the spirit of a family home, can accommodate 10 people in the most comfortable conditions. This country gîte is housed in the outbuildings of the former noble house of Chevalier Jean Martin de Muller (1720-1782), major of the Bercheny Hussar Regiment. It has a lovely view of the village airial and the listed Romanesque portal of its church, and benefits from the exceptional environment of an estate of almost 7ha, classified Natura 2000, comprising meadows, woods, an island, a canal with a waterfall, a river and a fishing reserve.

It was built between 1821 and 1830 according to the plans of architect Arthaud on the ruins of a 14th century Gothic fortified church with a large square steeple topped with small bell tower. The high altar and the angels are the work of the Mazzetti brothers. The marbles of the high altar are remarkable for the richness of their hues. The life of Saint Magdalene was painted by Madame Grimaud-Baudet, assisted by her husband and an Italian gilder.

Mont de Marsan is fortunate to still have, within the ancient limits of the primitive Castelnau, three or four Romanesque houses, built between the second half of the 12th century and the first decades of the 13th century.

The Despiau-Wlérick Museum is home to the largest collection of French figurative sculptures of the 20th century and considered one of the most important museums in the country. It invites you to discover its sculpture garden and its historical 13th century buildings, including a Romanesque chapel. The Bourg Neuf wash house, located in the square des Anciens Combattants. Housed below the roadway, at the foot of the 12th century ramparts, in the hollow of a former defensive ditch of the city, it is considered the oldest. It is fed by a fountain on which the date 1734 has been engraved. In 1934, it is the subject of repairs: the roof was remodelled, the paintings redone, the woodwork changed, the steps refurbished. Today, the roof is covered with tiles and the access to the wash-house is closed by a gate.

This unique work, a replica of the Marshal Foch monument located on Place du Trocadéro in Paris and featuring fine wooden slats on an inner frame, was offered by the Martin heirs to the Despiau-Wlérick Museum in 1992. This work is now in the pavilion of Jean Rameau Park and lit up at night.

Formerly called "the Nursery”, it is located on Place Francis Planté, the name of a Landes poet and novelist of the beginning of the last century. Created in 1793 to grow pine trees, it became a public garden in 1947. In a bend of the Douze river, it has more than 80 species of beautiful trees as well as a Japanese garden, a fern garden and a hydrangeas garden. You can also find several sculptures there.
