A 10 km walk along the footpath easement (pedestrian only) from Marcillac to Vauclaire: 4 departures are possible: Marcillac, Ménestérol, Chandos, Vauclaire. This easement, which follows the old towpath from the days when gabares sailed on the Isle, allows you to immerse yourself in a protected natural environment. The path runs alongside the river, lined with tall trees whose branches create a soft shade, perfect for escaping the heat of the sun. The gentle murmur of the Isle, barely disturbed by grey herons or kingfishers, soothes the spirit and invites relaxation.

Starting from Montpon, you will ride on small quiet roads in the forest of the Double which is one of the mythical places of the Périgord. You will ride along roads dotted with lakes, passing original houses called "doubleaudes". In Echourgnac, you will be near the Parcot farm (Eco-museum) and the Cistercian Abbey of Notre Dame de Bonne Espérance where the nuns make the famous "Trappe d'Echourgnac" (cheese matured in walnut liquor).

Shared roads and bicycle paths allow to reach the country of Gurson. The castle of Gurson, of which only vestiges remain, used to watch over the surrounding villages, and has for some years now dominated a lake that has been converted into a departmental leisure center.

This bike ride, on the greenway linking the Périgord to the Bordeaux region, allows you to discover the Isle river which runs for 180 km in the department before flowing into the Dordogne at Libourne. This river has been fitted out with canals and locks for the transport of goods by flat-bottomed boats. The mill of Duellas, today a place of reception, animations and boat trips, was also used as a relay for the boatmen.

A beautiful loop to discover the river Isle on two communes of the Montponnais territory. Wooded and rural landscapes will allow you to appreciate the peaceful surroundings. Not to be missed: the view of the Vauclaire Charterhouse!

The Vauclaire loop allows you to discover a place steeped in history. Mainly located in woodland, it's a very pleasant walk, but beware of some fairly technical sections! It offers lovely views of the Chartreuse.
