The Auvezère flows from its entrance in the Dordogne in real gorges that can reach a depth of a hundred meters. The river takes on the air of a torrent as it weaves its way between boulders, in a succession of rapids and waterfalls. This river, which is sufficiently agitated to host regional, inter-regional and national canoe-kayak championships on an equipped course, reaches its peak at the "Saut Ruban", an enchanting and emblematic place that should not be missed.

Saint-Mesmin is located in a triangle between Limoges (87), Brive la Gaillarde (19) and Périgueux (24). 1132 inhabitants lived in the village in 1898, but in 1947 it had only 720. The Auvézère gorges are already mentioned as a tourist attraction.

From iron to straw ... This is the story of the Papeterie de Vaux, created in 1861 on the site of two old forges to produce rye straw paper. 5 km from Payzac, at the bend of a small road in the Périgord Vert, the large chimney of the blast furnace appears. You arrived at the Papeterie museum. Discover this Historic Monument, the last factory in France to present an intact paper manufacturing line, witness to the industrial era of the last century. You can create your own paper during the workshops in the museum.

In February 1944, the Lasveyras Bridge Mill, located on the banks of the Auvezère River in Beyssenac, was home to about fifty young STO draft dodgers. On February 16, 1944, in the early morning, a German detachment surprised them. Following the massacre: 34 were executed on the spot, 13 were deported, of which 6 died in deportation, 7 survived 3 survivors. All these young men were waiting to form the Bataillon Violette, a battalion that was formed in June 1944. Outside the site - the path of memory: years 1940 to 1945, - pedestrian paths and botanical path on the site, - stele of the martyrs. During the summer : you can discover inside the mill an exhibition presenting the Resistance fighters as well as objects.

Lasveyras Bridge Memorial Trail At the site, an exhibition describes the “Pont Lasveyras Massacre”, and commemorates the 49 victims who died on 16 February 1944. The exhibition features the Resistance, the war years (1940-1945), the speech of General de Gaulle, famous men of the period, the Liberation and much more.

Beyssenac is located at the western end of the Corrèze department. Don't hesitate to push open the door of the 12th-century Romanesque church of Saint-Médard. It features contemporary stained glass windows made of glass and cement. The windows are the work of Benedictine monks from Fleury Abbey in Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire. The Saint-Fiacre fountain (near the church) is said to have the virtue of curing convulsions and digestive disorders. On the edge of the Dordogne, discover the Moulin du Pont-Lavseyras. Here, on February 16, 1944, 34 young Resistance fighters from the Bataillon Violette were executed by a German platoon, 12 were deported (7 escaped), and 3 survived the attack. The Moulin is now a place of remembrance, where an exhibition recounting the events is open to the public every summer (Saturday and Sunday afternoons from July to September).

In the heart of the Périgord Vert region, Le Prévert d'Aubisse has been cultivating a 2,000 m² paradise of organic flowers and edible plants for the past 4 years. Here, biodiversity reigns supreme: little tillage, living hedges, preserved wild corners? and a hundred or so species to delight the senses! From spring to autumn, restaurateurs and the curious alike find treasures here: fresh flowers, aromatic herbs, infusions, pestos, syrups, vinegars or confits? all transformed on site in a charming chalet-labo. You'll find Le Prévert at local markets and fairs, and in summer, visits are by appointment for a tasty stroll through nature and gourmet delights.

This foundry on the banks of the Auvézère River, with water rustling in the background, is one of the most remarkable sites in the Périgord. Overlooked by the castle of the Masters of the Forge, the blast furnace still bears witness to bygone activity, and was the last in France to run on charcoal. A footpath,accessible all year round, circles the forge in an enchanting setting of water and woodlands.

Take your time to observe and to listen. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the Chapel Notre Dame de partout was built in 1958 by the will and under the direction of Father Gali.

This picturesque medieval town in Corrèze, on the banks of the Auvézère river, is dominated by the imposing remains of its castle, which is currently being restored. At the crossroads of the Haute-Vienne, Corrèze and Dordogne departments, the site is listed as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France" and has joined the "Pays d?Art et d?Histoire Vézère Ardoise". The cradle of the first Viscounts of Limoges, this site was also the seat of a "Court of Appeals" from the 15th to the 18th century, and enjoyed great prosperity. The village boasts a number of remarkable 15th- and 16th-century residences, including the Tour Saint-Laurent dwelling and the Tour du Guet and Henri IV houses (turrets, half-timbering, spiral staircases, monumental fireplaces, etc.).

This café-snack-multiservice offers continuous service in summer, from noon to 9pm, with a range of local snacks: meat and vegetarian burgers, French fries, falafel platters, aperitif platters, and more. With a dish of the day at weekends. In winter, stews and classic mountain dishes (raclettes, fondues, etc.) are served, while the snack offer is maintained.

La Caravane is located on the edge of a hiking trail, and is open to all only during the high season. Here you can enjoy seasonal produce, tasty ice creams and a cool drink... Another caravan is open every lunchtime in July and August at Place Sarlandie, in the town center.

The restaurant team offers traditional cuisine in a large, bright room (180 seats), served in a pleasant setting. A private lounge (35 seats) that can be transformed into a video-conference room allows you to organize family reunions or company seminars.
