By taking the "loop of the crests" through the countryside of Villamblard, let yourself be seduced by the softness of its hilly landscapes and by its wide and easy paths, bordered by chestnut and pine forests. You will discover some beautiful viewpoints and a still preserved nature. Back to the village, drink at the old wash house of Buguet or better, go through the door of the Distillery Clovis Reymond. In the village, the imposing vestiges of the Barrière castle stand out. You will be surprised by the free visit.

This loop allows you to discover the village of St Georges de Montclard dominated by the private castle of the 11th century. You will also be able to admire the houses with typical roofs of the region, some of which have preserved galleries and wooden balconies. On the village square, you will find the market hall rebuilt in the 18th century, testifying to the economic importance of the area in the past. Your walk will take you to the hamlet of Saint-Georges, through which flows the river of the same name, where you will find the 11th century church, which was built on an ancient place of worship. Inside, there is a space dedicated to Saint Rita, patron saint of desperate causes.

Welcome to the path of the motte castrale in Saint Félix de Villadeix The village has a long history. The parish church is a Romanesque church that was extensively altered in the 15th and 19th centuries. The chapel of Saint-Nicolas, located in the cemetery, dates from the 15th century. The chapel of Lapeyrouse, with its original architecture reminiscent of the cathedral of Saint-Front de Périgueux, was built in the 19th century. However, several elements testify to a much older occupation of the territory: a section of ancient road and a motte castrale from around the year 1000. The 3.5 km interpretation circuit of the motte castrale invites you to discover the little-known history of Saint Félix.

Quietly located in a small hamlet, the gite Le Faurillou (blacksmith in Occitan) is an independent house in the middle of 3,250 m² of land, 1,200 m² of which is enclosed. Former farmhouse from the 1880s enlarged and renovated over the years, the house is composed of an entrance, a kitchen open to the living room, an office, a veranda and a patio. The Potentille bedroom (1 140 cm bed) and the Géranium bedroom (2 90 cm beds) share a bathroom/WC. The Myosotis room (1 160 cm bed), open to the outside, has its private bathroom/WC. Although used as a dietary supplement, spirulina is a natural, high-quality agricultural product. Its local, artisanal production uses very little farmland, water and energy, and is free of pesticides and herbicides, making it very environmentally friendly.

The Château de Barrière, namesake of the castle in Périgueux and located in the heart of Villamblard, is a medieval fortress built around its original 13th-century square keep and expanded until the 16th century. Battered by the centuries, the castle, recently renovated by passionate volunteers, birthplace of Count Wlgrin de Taillefer, presents two important collections of objects from nearby forges and the Périgord region. 5 picnic tables are set up under the covered market next to the parking lot, bordering the green spaces at the start of the hiking trail. Benches, water point with tap at the back of the town hall, public toilets on the town hall forecourt, parking lot with camper van access and petanque area. Everyone manages their own garbage cans.

This picnic area is located in the village, in a playground adjoining the Fouleix village hall. It's the starting point for the commune's hiking trail. You'll find 3 tables, benches, litter garbage cans, a play area (with a swing, spring-loaded games, a small zip line and a boule pitch) and a parking lot. It is equipped with a defibrillator, bicycle parking and an electric charging station.
