The itinerary is divided between tracks, a stretch of road and a path, and doubles as a fitness trail between the dolmen and the village. We advise you to follow the route anticlockwise, and to avoid walking it when it's hot.

Take a stroll around the heathland - or rather moors - of Saumagne, with this easy-to-access mini trail. The site is rich in species of flora and fauna typical of these open habitats, and is now managed by the Conservatoire d'Espaces Naturels for their preservation. However, the walk also takes you through a small wood and alongside a beautiful pond. The walk presents no difficulties. The descent to the bank of the pond and the subsequent ascent can be avoided if necessary by a short detour via the main track. Please note: the moors may be grazed by sheep - dogs must be kept on a leash

This walk, which alternates between paths and small roads, reveals two places of particular interest: the "little" of the Age, which offers a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Vitrat pond, and the Bessac wood, appreciated for its atmosphere and freshness.

Near La Souterraine, the short Chapuisette circuit takes a detour into the surrounding countryside, skirting a wood and passing through a peaceful residential area. It is also an opportunity to discover a discreet but fascinating environment: the wetland and its procession of invertebrates, amphibians and hygrophilous plants. This immersive trail of just over 3 kilometers leads from the church gate to the medieval site of the Château de Bridiers, via narrow streets and lanes, skirting the beautiful Etang du Cheix. Milestones mark the route at regular intervals.

Paulhac, a small village in the Creuse region, is one of the most pleasant in the area and is home to a remarkable Templar commandery. Built in the middle of the 12th century, the Paulhac commandery is a typical example of rural Limousin Gothic architecture, having served as a model for other Templar buildings in the area, such as Blaudeix, Chamberaud and Saint Moreil. Dating from the late 13th century, the large frescoes displayed here are one of Paulhac's major attractions. The Chapelle Saint Fiacre (Saint Fiacre Chapel), adjacent to the church and probably an oratory in the cemetery, features a symbolic flamboyant pediment? The parish church of Saint Laurent is a construction of the XIII , and has considerably revised the nineteenth two side chapels. The pointed arch portal has no ornament but a curious corbels offer sampling carved heads .

Pear-shaped plan, originally limited by 5 pillars and covered by a single slab. Dated between 3788 and 3389 BC. Archeological objects from the Late Neolithic, Gallo-Roman and Medieval periods were found in its chamber. Listed as a historical monument since 1945. According to legend, 4 young girls were each carrying a huge stone in their apron when one of them, tired, asked her companions to ask God for help. They refused, and let their heavy burden fall. This legend would explain why three of the pillars were oblique, while the 4th, with God's help, stood perfectly vertical. But the story says nothing about the 5th, whose existence was proven during the excavation.
