A country circuit where magnificent paths with dry-stone walls lead you to the grounds of the former Château d?Hautefeuille. Spring, when Mother Nature awakens, is the season to discover this trail. Discover several sites in the commune, starting with Puy de la Garde (805 m.), which offers views of Puy de Dôme and the Massif du Sancy. The walk continues to the villages of Manoux (tumulus) and Gourseix. In the latter, a reused stone that may have come from the former Château d'Hautefeuille is said to bear the coat of arms of the lords. As you leave the village, take the path on the left which joins the road.Follow it to the right. At the next crossroads, turn left. 200 m. after the La Barrre, after a transformer, take a trail to the right. Follow it, keeping straight ahead; ignore a path on the left; go to the crossroads just before the road on the left. The path meets the road.Turn left onto it; after the sorting area, take the path on the left to reach the village. Turn right to find the church.

During this walk, you will discover some of the many man-made lakes in the commune of Flayat.Take the Etang de l'Ecluse causeway and continue to the road.Once on the road, turn left for a few metres and then go down the path on the right which goes into the woods.At the road, turn right and go through the small village of Gandouly then continue along the road to the D 29.At the crossroads, go to the right and go through Noudière.As you leave the hamlet, go to the left, past the last houses, then take the first path on the right.Continue up the path which rises to the lake, Etang Neuf.Cross the river by the small wooden bridge and continue straight on until you reach the D 29. Turn right to get back to the starting point.

The commune of St Agnant près Crocq invites you to take a stroll between history and panoramic views, with stops at Montgouyard, the Chapel of St Michel and the Château du Theil.At the church, turn right towards Magnat-l'Etrange.350 m after the pond, take a path on the left in the underbrush.Go up a path lined with ancient low stone walls on the left.At Morneix, go down and to the right.Turn left at the intersectionTake the road to the right. In a bend, after the village, follow a woodland path on the left.At the first branch, go down the sunken path on the left and at the second one continue on the left.Just before the D29, go up a path on the right.In Montgouyard, take a track opposite towards the chapel of St Michel.At the cross, descend to the right. The path veers to the left before narrowing. At Le Besth, follow the road straight on.Then take the first path on the right.Cut across the D31, and follow the road beside the lake. At the end, go up the path on the right.At the branch in the path, turn left to the road and then take two right turns to reach the town hall.

A family hike in the heart of the heritage of the Creuse countryside.Departure in front of the church. Go right at the next crossroads: the path runs alongside meadows then goes up towards the road that we follow on the right.Head right towards Pradal. In the village, go left in front of the fountain. After 50 metres, turn left. Then return to the track on the right. Go straight ahead at the next two intersections. Once past the Puy de la Chaume, take the path obliquely to the right to reach Galemaud.Take the road to the right.  After the oven, take the path on the left to reach La Gane.Pass the stream, and then take the path on the right. Turn right at the next crossroads to go back up towards Malleret.

At the exit of the village of Manoux, you will notice a strange mound that turns out to be a tumulus. These man-made hills, made of earth and stones, house in their centre a funerary chamber that was the tomb for a dead person. A little further along the path, the wet meadows were once home to three ponds.

This church dates back to 1167, short and wide it has a bell tower with two bells. It presents some very beautiful paintings from the 14th century, one a tetramorphe (represents the 4 evangelists in their allegorical form)

The Puy de Dôme is an ancient volcano which gave its name to the eponymous department. At the height of 1,465 metres above sea level, it is the highest volcano in Chaine des Puys, a volcanic complex of 80 volcanoes.A TDF antenna has become the symbol of the site and makes it very easy to identify. Also, at its summit, is a Gallo-Roman temple dedicated to Mercury. While the bravest can make the ascent on foot, a rack and pinion train gives access to the summit.

This hike will offer you a remarkable view of the highest volcano in metropolitan France, the Puy de Sancy. At 1885 metres above sea level, this summit is the highest point of the Massif Central. The two streams, the Dore and the Dogne, originate there, and their confluence forms the Dordogne.

The single-vessel nave comprises two bays, a choir with a flat chevet opening onto two chapels, and a porch belfry. A small bell tower sits at the level of the pointed-arch opening at the entrance to the choir. The first two-bay nave dates from the 13th or 14th century. The church was restored between 1520 and 1527. The original wall belfry was replaced by the present porch belfry in the 16th century. In 1528, the choir was enlarged and side chapels added. The one to the south was dedicated to Saint Martin, the one to the north to the Holy Trinity. In 1728-1729, the choir was enlarged and side chapels were added. The south chapel was built by Sébastien Paschal, a master cutter from Champagnat, and blessed on October 30, 1733. The work was carried out thanks to the initiative of parish priest Jean-Baptiste Michon. Numerous objects are preserved as Monuments Historiques.

Locate the 763 metre point marked on the map: this was the site of the château d'Hautefeuille. Its owner, Jean Motier de La Fayette, was killed in 1568 during the Wars of Religion at the battle of Cognat, in the Allier, by the Protestants; they also burned down this fortress. The land was sold by François de La Fayette, husband of the novelist. A château was rebuilt. Described as intact in the 19th century, it was destroyed and then used as a stone quarry.

Granite is a ubiquitous material and is also part of our rural heritage. Drinking fountains show the importance of water for breeding land.

The biggest and best preserved motte (raised area of ground from a motte and bailey castle) in the Auvergne with a height of 12m. It was erected in the 11th century at the command of an Auvergnat Count. A wooden tower of which there are no traces left , would have risen from it's summit. At the Puy de Chicheix, the path offers a view of the Auvergne volcanoes, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
