In the 13th century, it was first used as an abbey by Templar monks. Its Gothic arched openings bear witness to this. Dolmen de la Palein: Located on the CAUSSE de St CERNIN at an altitude of 276m. A funerary monument dating from the Middle Neolithic (-3100 / -2500), it stood beneath an oval-shaped tumulus measuring 28m by 15.50m. It is formed by limestone slabs 0.20m to 0.40m thick, three of which, placed vertically, form the solid supports of its table, which has the following dimensions: length: 2.85m, width: 2.43m, thickness: 0.40m. Excavated in 1865, the emptied dolmen contained only a few bone fragments and coarse pottery.

The church of Chasteaux, built on a rocky outcrop, offers an incomparable view of the Lac du Causse from its porch. "The church of Chasteaux, with its dominant position, is a very interesting example of Corrèze religious architecture. Although the parish is ancient, its current state shows a construction that appears to date back to the end of the 15th century: cross vaults with prismatic ribs and well-rounded keystones. "

The Romanesque church dates back to the 12th century. It features a domeless cupola, geminated arcades and projecting cornices. It has two side chapels, built later. The southern one is the oldest, while the northern one dates back only to 1732, when a number of parishioners pledged to finance the work, reserving burial rights for themselves. Until 1778, certain noble families were buried in the chapels and children in the sacristy. For reasons of hygiene, this tradition was abolished in 1778. The slabs from these burials were removed during the French Revolution and later used to rebuild the staircase steps. A cross remains on the first step. The Maison de l'Eau et de la Pêche de la Corrèze is dedicated to education, awareness-raising and expertise on aquatic environments. This involves, among other things, fishing courses and events/awareness-raising activities aimed at a wide range of audiences (children and adults). The Fournet rocks are topped by a crudely-built pedestal several meters high, supporting a bronze statue of the Virgin Mary known as Notre Dame des Champs, erected by subscription in the parishes of Larche and Saint Cernin following a mission and inaugurated on August 30, 1891.
