Discover the Monédières with this moderately hilly 66.5 km long route. The Monédières massif covers a total area of 60 km2, located to the south-west of the Millevaches plateau. During your journey, you will not fail to see its rounded peaks overlooking the valleys, the highest point of which is the puy de la Monédière, culminating at almost 919 metres in altitude. The massif has a rich ecosystem with rare flora and fauna, and includes a Natura 2000 classified area: the Landes des Monédières. The starting point of your tour is Chamberet, a certified green resort. After a few kilometres, the tour takes you to Treignac, a charming medieval town at the foot of the Monédières. This heritage town steeped in history has been awarded the "small town of character" label and offers you a unique visiting experience.

This circuit without great difficulty, but still hilly, makes you cross the communes of Rilhac-Treignac and Meilhards close to Chamberet.

Starting from the arboretum, you will discover sumptuous views over the whole of the Monédières massif, through deciduous forests and meadows. On the way back, the peaceful village of Chamberet has many interesting points, including the church and its treasure, the Gallo-Roman funerary urns, the Maison de l'Arbre, the aquarécréatif centre and another tree course..

A circuit that allows you to discover the attractions of Chamberet and its surroundings, as you walk through the deciduous forests and meadows.Go through the arboretum by the main track, then continue to the right as far as the road.At the crossroads, turn left after 200 m, then turn left again and go past an old oven.At the end of the road, turn right and then take the first left for 1 km to the village of Journiac (viewpoint over the Monédières).Turn left and continue on the path, then cross a stream and continue to a crossroads.(Outside the circuit: The rightmost path leads to the stele commemorating Marcelle Delpaste, the Occitan poet. (Round trip takes 20 mins).At the crossroads, turn left, then turn to the right into the village of Ciblac. Continue on the path at the end of the village for more than 1 km.(Outside the circuit: At the intersection, the path on the right leads to the chapel of Saint Dulcet. Round trip of 25 mins).At the intersection, turn left and take the road towards Chamberet. Go past the Chalets campsite and the tree-lined course to continue towards the village.At the stop sign, turn right and then, at the next crossroads, turn left towards Limoges. Go up as far as the Champ de Foire, turn left and go down Rue Marvent.On the bend, take the path on the left and return to the arboretum.

Entre Millevaches et Monédières, l'eau se confronte à la pierre et vous offre des reliefs à la fois exigeants et agréables … Après avoir traversé Treignac, classée "Petite cité de caractère", vous montez en direct à la pierre des druides qui vous offre une magnifique vue sur les Monédières. Puis, progressivement vous glissez vers Treignac en longeant plusieurs étangs jusqu'au mur des fénéants … PS : On n'a toujours pas trouvé la potion des druides.

A native of this village at the foot of Mont Gargan, Liliane dreams of turning her childhood home into a place of fond memories for holidaymakers. In renovating the house, she has taken great care to ensure its well-being, while preserving its retro soul and adding a few modern touches. The house is detached and has a beautiful 800 m² shady garden with flowers and a pleasant terrace. A keen hiker, she will be delighted to share her knowledge of the area.

The farmhouse, totally independent, is located in a quiet area in the countryside without any opposite. The gîte occupies the central part of the farmhouse and opens onto a closed garden with a pleasantly shaded pergola. The owner, originally from the Netherlands, lives in the western part of the house and also welcomes guests (2 rooms) in his house. A hiking trail passes nearby and allows you to discover the wild nature of the Mont Gargan region which culminates at 730 m. The Briance river, famous for sport fishing, is about 500 m from the gîte.

Bastelli Domenico, who has been farming in Chamberet since 1995, raises 35 Holstein and Montbéliard dairy cows on his 66 hectares of grassland. Fed on the farm?s own grass and hay, the cows produce quality milk, 75% of which is transformed into farm yoghurt. Made from pasteurized whole milk, the yogurts are either plain or flavored with added ferments or jam. Bastelli Domenico distributes its products mainly in Corrèze through local grocery stores, supermarkets, high schools, colleges and retirement homes.

Organic Limousin cows, grass-fed in Corrèze! Our cows are raised outdoors, as the Limousin breed lends itself perfectly to this, and we select according to their hardy, maternal character. We offer packages of 5 or 10kgs, made up of around 60% cuts for grilling (rib steak and/or rib eye, steaks (flank steak, rump steak, whiting, etc.), roast beef, rib steak, minced meat preparation and 40% cuts for cooking (pot au feu, shank, bourguignon).

A tour of the town will take you to the 13th-century Romanesque church and its shrine. After visiting the Gallo-Roman remains in Dr Roux Square, you can immerse yourself in the mysteries of nature at the Maison de l'Arbre (botanical trail, arboretum, fruit garden, animal garden, etc.). Dedicated to St. Dulcet, whose body was transferred to Limousin for burial. The current building, dating from the 12th century, has undergone numerous alterations following several fires (1590, 1818, 1881). The bell tower was rebuilt in 1660. The European fallow deer (Dama dama) is a ruminant artiodactyl mammal of the deer family. The fallow deer is a medium-sized animal. Only the male bears antlers (palmate), which it sheds each year in April/May. The buck’s hearing and sense of smell are complemented by exceptional daytime vision, their night vision being much less so. The age of a deer can be determined by the wear and tear on its molars.

The Chamberet arboretum is a collection of 105 species of trees covering some twenty hectares. Many deciduous and coniferous trees from our forestry heritage are represented, as well as more exotic species such as the Ginkgo biloba or the Araucaria from Chile. As you follow the trail, you'll come across a number of audio terminals that tell short stories depending on where you are.
