This gîte is located in the Parc Normandie Maine in Ravigny, on the borders of the Mayenne (Mont des Avaloirs), Sarthe (Alpes Mancelles) and Orne (St Céneri-le-Gérei: most beautiful villages in France). An undulating site, with remarkable views over the bocage countryside. La Muletière is close to Mont des Avaloirs (highest point in the Armorican Massif, 417m). Numerous hiking trails. 3km from the VéloScénie Paris/Le Mont-Saint-Michel, at Saint-Denis-sur-Sarthon. La Muletière is a spacious 130m² accommodation, with large living rooms on the ground floor, 2 bath/shower rooms, 1 separate toilet and 3 bedrooms. Overhanging sheltered terrace, very large garden of 1500m² where children love to hide! Swing set. Unenclosed land. Less than an hour away, enjoy the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne, with its casinos and spa. Shops: Saint Denis sur Sarthon (2.5km), Saint Pierre des Nids (6km), Pré-en-Paille (10km), Alençon (10km).

The Domaine de Trotté is a communal site open to the public, with a hiking trail close to the gîte. The village of Saint Pierre des Nids is 4km away, with all local shops. For leisure activities, you can go to the leisure centre at Saint-Cénéri-le-Gérei, just over 1km away, where you can go canoeing or kayaking, or to Saint Léonard des Bois (accrobranche course and other activities). Saint-Cénéri-le-Gérei has been designated one of France's most beautiful villages. River fishing in the Sarthon, 1st category, fishing licence required. Stone, wood, terracotta floor tiles and nature are the words that best describe this vast house, set on a knoll overlooking the surrounding countryside. The river Sarthe flows below. On the ground floor, the living rooms open onto the outside. 3 main bedrooms, including one on the ground floor with its own shower room. A mezzanine area with low ceilings for 3 extra beds. Courtyard with games, swing and outdoor furniture around the house. All shops and services are 3.7km from the gîte, in the village of Saint Pierre des Nids.

In the middle of forests and ponds, the monastery (néo-gothic rebuilt at the end of the 19th century) where the Rancé priest reformed in the 17th century, the order of the Cisterciens. The monastery fence protects the abbey and buildings from the 13th century. The abbey is a prayers place where the trappist monks live, so it is not open for visits. A video presents the history and today's life in the monastery (on demand). A shop of regional and monastic products is open everyday.

The Museum of the Comtesse de Segur is located near the Nouettes Castle where she lived from 1821 to 1872 and spent the best years of her life, writing about local life. The museum collects documents on this writer, her family, her friends and her work. Apart from the three permanent galleries of the museum, an annual exhibition is devoted to the presentation of a novel of the Comtesse de Segur: the goal is to constantly renew the interest of the museum and to charm visitors by showing them a new work.

Historical metallurgical activities in the country of Ouche. Ancestor of the steel plant, the Grosse Forge d'Aube produced iron since 1500. From 1850 to 1939, the work of copper adapted, without problems, the equipment before the Revolution. Listed as a Historical Monument, the site presents five centuries of metallurgy. Models trace thousand years of metallurgy. Exhibitions are devoted to this traditional activity and its impact, the foundations of the local industry still very active in this part of the valley of the Risle.

Museum devoted to the energy sources used in small and medium-sized companies between 1800 and 1950, in an authentic factory from 1916. You will discover industrial and farming motors, steam-powered machines that have been restored and then displayed in a setting that resembles the original. During the guided tour, the machines are put into operation. A scale-model room retraces the evolution of water and windmills.

In the old cafe-restaurant-hotel and village shop, Pierre Marzorati has created a new original scenography. In 10 exhibition halls, from the Petit Illustré to the imaginary laboratory and the first TV, you will be fascinated at the collections of unusual objects borrowed from the past.

A castle founded in the 12th century and rebuilt in the 16th century by a master mason from Tours, Jehan Frachet. Guided visit to the exterior parts on request.

15th and 18th century Church of Tourouvre was destroyed on the 13th August 1944. Not much is left of the original construction, except the church which has barely been modified. Stained-glass windows from 1893 portraying the emigration of Canadians in the 17th century. Two 16th-century stained-glass windows remain. Guided tours possible all year round, with a prior booking, contact the Tourist Office.

For almost 4 centuries, Tourouvre and in general Le Perche, have very close links with Canada. The contemporary and interactive scenography of this museum allows the visitors to embark for New France. This former French colony covered an area from the mouth of the Saint-Laurent (Quebec) to the Mississippi Delta (Louisiana). 400 years ago, the Percherons were among the first to go settle in these unknown lands, to clear forests to grow crops, build houses, in one word: to found a new country, Canada.
