In the heart of the Mayenne bocage, in a hilly landscape, you will appreciate this pleasant 18th-century farmhouse surrounded by a private, fully enclosed landscaped garden. La Closerie de la Vergée features large rooms: a living room with wood-burning stove (32m²), 3 bedrooms (15 to 22m²), 5 beds in total (2x140 and 3*90). The kitchen is fully equipped. In the covered courtyard, you can play table tennis, swings or Dutch billiards. To make the most of the outdoors, the garden furniture is complete, including the masonry charcoal barbecue. Younger children can play in the sandpit (buckets and spades available) and discover the farm's activities with Claudine and Romain, the owners. As soon as you arrive, you'll be welcomed with farm-fresh produce! Discover the surrounding countryside on foot or by bike: 8 bikes are available, 5 for adults and 3 for children. Shops are 7km away in Gorron. In Désertine (3km) you have access to bread and fresh produce vending machines. For your leisure activities, 7km away, the Colmont leisure centre offers tree courses (from 4 years and adults), paintball, swin golf, laser game, kayaking and mountain bike hire. Mini kayak/ mountain bike raids are also available by prior arrangement. Open from April to October. The Renaudies garden at Colombier du Plessis is a must-see, with its English-inspired garden, eco-museum and ephemeral maze in summer (12km). Discover the Marian city of Pontmain, a major pilgrimage site in the west of France since the apparition of Mary in 1871. From the gîte, escape to Mont Saint Michel, just an hour and 15 minutes away by car. Professional stay: 5 people maximum (5 beds and 3 bedrooms) - Cleaning compulsory 1 per stay from 1 to 14 nights. Weekend stay: from Friday 4pm to Sunday 4pm (to be agreed with the owner). Weekly stay: arrival from 4pm and departure at 10am.

At the entrance to the Gorges de la Vire and its pronounced hills, you'll find peace and relaxation in this beautiful, charming home. The owners, Steven and Christoph, fell in love with this enchanting setting during a detour from their native Belgium. They will be delighted to share with you a moment of serenity in their new life. Past the lintel dating from 1792, you'll discover one of 3 large, perfect bedrooms where Norman character meets Flemish spirit. The bedding is positioned in the center of the room to take full advantage of the light, views and furnishings. Passionate about painting, their collection of 19th-century portraits has taken over the space, giving it the unique atmosphere of a house museum! You'll be captivated by Sarah Bernahrdt's large painting at breakfast, and by the view over the verdant valley. Take the time for a hike or a canoe trip down the river, the site is well worth the effort... On the 1st floor of the house, the "Valentin" (bed 180x200) and "Estelle" (bed 160x200) bedrooms offer great comfort (35m² and 30m², private bathroom with wc) and incredible authenticity. The period woodwork and mantelpieces are remarkable. On the second floor, the "Louise" bedroom (35m², 2 beds 90x200) unfolds under the old roof frame, with a small dressing room behind the headboard. Ensuite bathroom and toilet. The rooms benefit from through-lighting and offer lovely views of the surrounding countryside. On the ground floor, the owners' living room with its wood-burning stove is available to guests for tea and coffee. Tasty breakfasts are served in the dining room by the cosy fireplace. Free access to the garden, including the charming covered terrace overlooking the wild valley where the River Vire flows. Private parking. Restaurant in village 2.5km away. No TV. Wifi Internet access. No arrivals after 7.30pm.
