An undulating site, with remarkable views over the bocage countryside. La Muletière is close to Mont des Avaloirs (highest point in the Armorican Massif, 417m). Numerous hiking trails. 3km from the VéloScénie Paris/Le Mont-Saint-Michel, at Saint-Denis-sur-Sarthon. La Muletière is a spacious 130m² accommodation, with large living rooms on the ground floor, 2 bath/shower rooms, 1 separate toilet and 3 bedrooms. For leisure activities, you can go to the leisure centre at Saint-Cénéri-le-Gérei, just over 1km away, where you can go canoeing or kayaking, or to Saint Léonard des Bois (accrobranche course and other activities). Stone, wood, terracotta floor tiles and nature are the words that best describe this vast house, set on a knoll overlooking the surrounding countryside. The river Sarthe flows below. 15th and 18th century Church of Tourouvre was destroyed on the 13th August 1944. Not much is left of the original construction, except the church which has barely been modified. Stained-glass windows from 1893 portraying the emigration of Canadians in the 17th century. Two 16th-century stained-glass windows remain. Guided tours possible all year round, with a prior booking, contact the Tourist Office.

For almost 4 centuries, Tourouvre and in general Le Perche, have very close links with Canada. The contemporary and interactive scenography of this museum allows the visitors to embark for New France. This former French colony covered an area from the mouth of the Saint-Laurent (Quebec) to the Mississippi Delta (Louisiana). 400 years ago, the Percherons were among the first to go settle in these unknown lands, to clear forests to grow crops, build houses, in one word: to found a new country, Canada.

In the middle of forests and ponds, the monastery (néo-gothic rebuilt at the end of the 19th century) where the Rancé priest reformed in the 17th century, the order of the Cisterciens. The monastery fence protects the abbey and buildings from the 13th century. The abbey is a prayers place where the trappist monks live, so it is not open for visits. A video presents the history and today's life in the monastery (on demand). A shop of regional and monastic products is open everyday.
