Miolles, a charming little village, situated at the gateway to the Aveyron, is renowned for its fruit production. This village, set in the valley, offers a microclimate that is favourable to the development of orchards. The cultivation of orchards in Miolles is ancient but a revival of fruit trees planted "in orchard" at the beginning of the 20th century took place thanks to Mr Rabaud. This activity brought new wealth to this mountain region. The fruit was sold in Lacaune with a donkey and on the way back, the slate was brought back for the roofs. This sector is also steeped in history, particularly in terms of archaeology. Indeed, in 1993 and 1994, two menhir statues were discovered in this commune, at a place called Le Terral. The history of this village is intertwined with that of the old Episcopalian castle, which was formerly the Bishop of Vabres summer palace. The name of the village was first made mention of in an official document dating back to 862 AD.During the 12th century, continual invasions, acts of banditry and battles between feudal lords created a tremendous insecurity. The Castle is said to date from the second half of 16th century a time when Wars of Religion were raging throughout the region. The fortress comprises a rectangular-shaped main building with corners supported by round towers that stand out from the four curtain walls. The Castle defence was provided by a well-conceived system with musket loopholes distributed over four floors on either side of each tower. Legend has it that in former times there was a lord who wanted to accumulate too much power. The king at that time would have sent troops to dismantle a tower of the Castle as a punishment and a mark of disgrace… Long ago, the land of St-Juéry was part of the royal domain. An uninterrupted succession of noble families have lived in the Castle and most of the lords of St-Juéry were laid to rest in the former parish church.

The Viala church was built in 1840 on the site of the village castle. The spire is made of red cut sandtone and contains a bell dating back to 1660 which was rung to remove the threat of thunderstorms.

AIR LE PARC is located in a beautiful former 19th-century notary's residence, the base of which dates back to 1596, adjoining a park surrounded by old stone walls, in PAMPELONNE (Tarn), a 13th-century bastide town. The residence has been open since 2006. Artists' residency, project and research centre for professional artists working in all disciplines (design, painting, visual arts, music, writing, theatre, dance, film, multimedia, etc.). It is also open for sessions, seminars, concerts and training courses. The rooms and studios are spacious. Large communal areas are available for projects. Groups of hikers or weddings can also be accommodated if required.
